Messi and Ibrahimovic in Coral goalscorer double special

| 12.03.2014

Coral’s last Champions League scorer double involving Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic paid off, as both netted in their first leg last 16 matches against Manchester City and Bayer Leverkusen respectively. Back the duo for goals again anytime at 7/4.

Barcelona’s Messi grabbed the opener for his side in the first match against City from the spot, after being brought down by Martin Demichelis – who was subsequently sent off – as the Spaniards went on to get a crucial 2-0 away win.

The four-time Ballon d’Or winner is priced at 3/1 to score first again or 4/6 to get a goal at anytime.

Argentine Messi, despite being hit by injury for part of the season, has kept in fine form, especially in the Champions League. He has managed to net seven times in his four appearances – scoring in each of those matches – and can be backed at 3/1 to bag a brace or more again. Odds of 13/2 say he can win the Gold Boot in the competition.

Barca are heavily odds-on to qualify for the quarters at 1/25 and 8/13 to win in 90 minutes, while they are second-favourites at 7/2 to win the European Cup for a fifth time.

Messi’s Golden Boot rival Ibrahimovic (15/8 second-favourite to finish the competition top scorer) has played in six of seven Champions League games for PSG this season, and has netted an incredible 10 times.

The Swede has averaged exactly a goal per game in his 38 appearances this campaign in all competitions, and it’s very difficult to back against him adding to his tally here when facing Leverkusen again.

Ibrahimovic has been in terrific form this season so far, having scored an incredible 18 in his last 16 Ligue 1 games and, following his double in the Champions League first leg, he is priced at 2/1 to get two or more again, or odds-on at 4/7 to net at anytime.

PSG are looking a real threat in Europe this year, and after their heavy 4-0 away win against Leverkusen are now priced at 10/1 to win the competition. Back them to beat the Germans on the night in 90 minutes at 2/5.

Remember that both of these players are the designated penalty takers for their clubs, which increases the chances of this bet coming off.
