Ashley Giles odds-on favourite to become permanent England coach

However with England fans turning their backs on him, Mick Newell has been backed into 4-1 from 13-2 to get the job, alongside Lancashire coach Peter Moores. Other possible successors include Gary Kirsten at 5-1 and Paul Collingwood at 9-1.

“Ashley Giles may be the odds-on favourite to be appointed England coach on a permanent basis, but as England fans demand change, we’ve started seeing money for Mick Newell getting the job,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
