Back Mirallas and Suarez for FA Cup Merseyside scoring double
Coral are offering mega odds of 9/2 on Everton’s Kevin Mirallas and Liverpool leading marksman Luis Suarez both to score at anytime in their respective FA Cup fifth round ties.
Everton host Swansea City knowing they have never lost to the south Wales side in any competition. The Toffees, who are odds-on at 8/13 for victory, have played the Swans in the world’s oldest knockout football competition once before – way back in January 1954.
Some 60 years ago Everton ran out 3-0 winners. A repeat of that result is 12/1 here. The best Swansea have managed at Goodison Park since has been a couple of draws.
Mirallas scored on the Toffees’ trip to the Liberty Stadium last season and has netted twice in his last four Premier League outings. He literally has a goal every other game from two appearances against the Swans.
In the absence of the injured Romelu Lukaku, Everton boss Roberto Martinez has rotated Mirallas and Scotland international Steven Naismith in a nominal centre forward role. Results have taken a dip, however, with the Toffees losing two of their last three League games.
Their odds of a top-four finish have drifted out to 9/1 as a result. Mirallas is likely to return to his favoured wide right berth for this match as giant Ivorian striker Lacina Traore is set to make his Everton debut up front. Lukaku is still a week away from returning.
Suarez, the overwhelming 1/16 favourite to win the Premier League golden boot, will be looking to end a drought of three games without a goal against Arsenal. Liverpool recently handed out a 5-1 hiding to the Gunners at Anfield, but this cup clash is in north London.
Uruguay frontman Suarez smashed a sensational volley against the post in the last meeting, though that hardly mattered. He is something of a good luck charm for the Reds as they have never lost to Arsenal when he has scored.
Liverpool are 13/8 to inflict another damaging defeat on the Gunners here. Their sensational form under Brendan Rodgers also has them third favourites for the Premier League title at 8/1 ahead of Arsene Wenger’s outfit at 9/1.
Despite Suarez’s recent absence from the scoresheet, he has formed a prolific partnership with Daniel Sturridge. Between them, the SAS have a combined 42 goals in all competitions.
Suarez was also wanted by Arsenal last summer, but the Reds rejected a reported £40m offer. Back him to show Gunners fans what they could have had instead of a tired-looking Olivier Giroud in attack.
