Coral are offering attractive odds of 9/2 for Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller and Diego Costa of Atletico Madrid to both score anytime in their first leg Champions League matches against Arsenal and AC Milan respectively.

Both World Cup hopefuls have been very much in the goals this season in Europe’s elite club competition and, despite playing away, their sides go into their games as favourites.

Costa, who recently has chosen to represent adopted country Spain rather than his country of birth Brazil, has scored 26 times in 34 matches in all competitions this season, but more crucially four in three Champions League fixtures.

The 25-year-old has helped fire Atletico to joint-first on points in La Liga (third after goal difference) this campaign. Although his recent form of three goals in his last 12 in all competitions doesn’t look promising, it is his European group stage tally that puts him in good stead to score again here.

Back Costa at 33/1 to finish as the competition’s top scorer, or 5/4 to score anytime in the first leg against Milan. The Italian home side’s injury problems and terrible domestic form also suggest an away victory. Back Atletico at 11/10 to win at the San Siro.

Champions League holders Munich face underdogs Arsenal in a repeat of last year’s first knockout round, where they beat the Gunners on their own turf 3-1.

Muller was amongst the goals that day, and his current season’s tally of three in six games in the competition suggests he is in contention to grab another at the Emirates. His record against English clubs also looks promising, netting four times in nine matches.

The Germany international’s odds of 66/1 to get the Champions League Golden Boot this year suggest that feat is unlikely, but back him at 5/4 to score any time against Arsenal in the first leg.
