Leicester title charge to march on against Leeds at Elland Road

| 17.01.2014

The one visitor that Leeds could have seriously done without after their painful 6-0 drubbing by Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday is the Championship’s leaders and most in-form side, Leicester.

Even more unluckily for those of a Leeds persuasion is that this game will be beamed into living rooms across the land as it represents Sky Sports’ early offering of the weekend.

In fact, the opposing formbooks could not be more drastically contrasting, with Leicester having ploughed their way into a four-point lead at the summit with five straight wins, while the hosts are winless in six – losing the last three straight in the second tier.

Therefore, if the informed Coral punter was not already considering the 1/1 on Leicester to claim yet another three points, then now is the time to include it in any preferred multiple selections as well.

Nigel Pearson’s Foxes have been propelled to the dizzy heights off the back of a barrage of goals and considering Leeds have shipped at least twice in their last four in all competitions, exploiting some goal markets look like good accompanying bets for this one.

The prolific leaders have just plundered an average of exactly four goals per game from their last three Championship outings.

The 9/5 on offer of over four total goals in the game should not be sniffed as a direct result, while the far more profitable price of 3/1 on 2+ second-half Leicester goals – a feat they’ve achieved in all of their last three appearances – is a humdinger.

Doing the damage with consummate ease this season is Leicester’s top scorer David Nugent, with 16 goals in all competitions.

His boots are currently so hot after five strikes in as many appearances, he’ll probably have to wear gloves in order to lace them up.

Back Nugent at 9/2 to bag first and cover yourself with the 6/5 he notches anytime.
