Dominant Juventus to snap Roma’s unbeaten Serie A start
Published:Juventus have been winning at both half time and full time in their last three games against Roma at the Delle Alpi; back them to do so once again at 31/20.
The hosts have also been winning at half time and full time in six of their last eight Serie A matches and have kept a clean sheet in their last five home games.
Antonio Conte’s side are currently five points clear at the top of Serie A and he will know that a victory over second-placed Roma would see his side take a giant stride towards their third consecutive title.
Bet on Juve to win at ht/ft at 31/20
Juve have won their last 10 domestic matches, with their last nine Serie A games being won by a margin of 23-1.
They have also dominated this fixture in recent years, recording victories of 4-0 and 4-1 in the last two seasons.
However Roma are a different team these days, and Rudi Garcia’s side are amazingly still unbeaten in the league after 17 games.
They have conceded just seven goals over that period – the lowest in the league by four (from Juventus) – and are a very well-organised side.
Bet on Carlos Tevez to score first at 4/1
Three Brazilians and a Moroccan make up their regular back-four but, with Danielle De Rossi sitting in-front of defence, they have been very solid.
The visitors set a new Italian record when recording 10 back-to-back victories at the start of the season but Juventus can equal that with a win, and the hosts will welcome back Andrea Pirlo into the squad after injury.
Carlos Tevez – who has scored 11 goals this season – is also set to play after returning late from Argentina after the New Year: he is 4/1 to score first.
The 29-year-old has four goals in his last two matches and four of his 11 goals in Serie A have been the first strike of the match.
Bet on Juventus to win to nil at 21/20
Arturo Vidal has also been in good goal-scoring form this season, and he has fond memories of this fixture, having scored three times in the last two meetings of these sides in Turin.
Pirlo also scored in those two matches, and he is 11/4 to do so once again, with Vidal priced at 7/4.
The latter has scored 12 times in all competitions and half of those strikes have been the first goal of the game; the penalty-taker is 6/1 to score first.
Roma will be the toughest nut that Juve have had to crack this season, and Roma forward Francesco Totti is in confident mood.
He said: “We have beaten the best this season, we are just missing Juventus. We are not interested in the draw, we just want to win.”
However history is not on their side, with the team from Rome only winning two of the last 16 clashes between the two sides.
Juventus’ desire in their relentless pursuit of points should see them prevail in a tight encounter; 10 of their 15 wins this season have been to nil and a repeat of that result is 21/10.
