Derby’s record against best in Championship means Leicester win

Leicester and Derby are the two most in-form teams in the Championship through taking 13 points from their last six fixtures, which suggests that 12/5 on a draw at the King Power Stadium is a charitable price.

However, it is a Leicester victory at 21/20 in the Championship betting that should make even greater appeal, given the record of Derby against the division’s high flyers and their results away at Leicester in recent seasons.

Big-match bottlers is not a nickname that any club will want, but Derby have lost all three league matches so far against the clubs above them in the Championship standings – Leicester, Burnley and QPR.

Furthermore, they have also been beaten by Leicester in the Capital One Cup, which was held at the King Power Stadium.

This extended Derby’s record to four successive away defeats to Leicester, with at least two goals conceded in all of these losses.

Given that Leicester have also scored in eight straight clashes with Derby, the 8/11 on offer that the Foxes net over 1.5 goals against their fellow Midlands club is a price worth considering.

Leicester’s most recent form is additionally better than their adversaries, as Nigel Pearson’s men have won four league games in a row, while Derby’s only victory in three came at bottom club Barnsley.

As Derby have only failed to score in one of their 12 away days so far, this heightens the prospects of the 4/7 on both teams scoring being successful, with the 27/10 on Leicester taking three points from a game without a clean sheet possibly the best bet on offer.

In relation to who will get the goals, David Nugent has been on target in three of Leicester’s last four outings and he appeals at 6/5 to score at any time in the 90 minutes.
