Classy Chelsea too strong for improving but inferior Derby County

| 04.01.2014

Chelsea are set to name a strong team against Derby and the visitors should be backed to win without conceding at 31/20.

Derby have really struggled against the good teams this season; they’ve already lost to QPR, Leicester, Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

Jose Mourinho has treated the Capital One Cup with respect already this season and he has suggested that the Blues will not take Sunday’s FA Cup game lightly.

The Portuguese said: “Do we lose? Do we win? Who knows? At least the message is we respect them and we go there with the best possible team.

“I think the players are also keen on it, to go with a strong side and at least tell our opponent that we are going there with maximum respect.”

David Luiz is back from injury and looks set to start, whilst Samuel Eto’o has been the go-to striker for the cup matches.

The summer recruit has five goals so far this season, two of which have been the first of the match.

The Cameroonian is 4/1 to score first, which makes more appeal than the Evens to score at any time.

Elsewhere, Frank Lampard is also worth backing to score first, should the midfielder be fit enough to start.

The England international scored four the last time that these sides met back in 2008 and also netted in Chelsea’s Capital One Cup defeat at Sunderland.

He is struggling with a muscular injury however.

Hosts Derby County have been in fine form of late, winning 10 of their 15 games since Steve McClaren took over from Nigel Clough.

A vocal home support and a full house will enhance their chance of an upset, however they have lost six of their 12 games against top-half teams this season.

Those figures suggest that Chelsea should have too much class and guile for their opponents.
