Chelsea safely through in FA Cup as Manchester United crash out

Chelsea are now 9/2 to lift the FA Cup after seeing off a spirited Derby County on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from John Obi Mikel and Oscar secured a 2-0 win for Jose Mourinho’s side, who last won the trophy in 2011/2, their fourth success in seven years.

The reward for a professional performance is a home tie to fellow Premier League side Stoke City, after Mark Hughes’ side defeated Leicester in round three.

The 4/1 favourites Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at Blackburn in the early kick-off on Saturday and the winner of their replay will be at home to either Bristol City or Watford.

Across the city, the 11-time winners Manchester United were beaten at Old Trafford by a well-organised Swansea City, who triumphed 2-1 thanks to goals from Wayne Routledge and Wilfried Bony.

However the Swans (33/1) will have to wait some time to see who they will play in the fourth round, as they have been drawn against Birmingham/Bristol Rovers/Crawley.

Bristol Rovers and Crawley are still yet to play their second round replay, with the winners of that tie (due to take place on Wednesday) up against Birmingham in round three.

Five-time winners Everton (9/1) will travel to Stevenage for their next match after seeing off QPR 4-0 on Saturday, although the hosts will be on a high after defeating Championship side Doncaster in round three.

Rivals Liverpool (11/2) will travel to Bournemouth or Burton Albion after beating Oldham at Anfield – a much happier result for the Reds than when humbled by their rivals at Boundary Park last season in the fourth round.

Arsenal, who beat north London rivals Spurs, are 9/2 chances and they will entertain cash-strapped Coventry City, who earned the glamour tie with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Barnsley.

Elsewhere, Rochdale beat Leeds United 2-0 at Spotland to set up another home tie, this time against either Macclesfield or Sheffield Wednesday who shared the spoils in Cheshire.

Macclesfield and Kidderminster Harriers are the only non-league teams left in the competition and the latter will travel to Sunderland if they can win their replay with Peterborough.
