Artic Monkeys dominate Brit Awards betting

Published:

Artic Monkeys are tipped to be the stars of the night at the Brit Awards on Sunday, after bookmaker Coral installed them as the frontrunners to win the award for Best British Group and Best British Album at 2-9 and 1-4 respectively.

Veteran artist David Bowie is the hot favourite at 8-11 to steal the gong for Best Male, ahead of John Newman at 5-2 and Jake Bugg at 6-1. Other acts tipped to win their categories include Ellie Goulding, who is 1-7 to win Best British Female, and Bastille, who are 4-6 to win the breakthrough award.

“Artic Monkeys are dominating awards season and after receiving eight nominations for the NME Awards yesterday, it looks like the Sheffield quartet will need to make room in their trophy cabinet,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

“The Brit Awards is their first stop, and we reckon it will be a clean sweep for the Indie rock band, after they released the second-fastest selling album and topped the charts with their fifth album AM,” added McGeady.
