Anne emerges as favourite name for new royal arrival

| 17.01.2014

The firm make Anne the 5-1 favourite, after her grandmother, with Elizabeth and Zara also among frontrunners at 6-1 and 10-1 respectively. Outsider bets include Kate at 50-1 and Pippa at 1000-1.

Punters can also get odds of 33-1 that the new born will one day represent Team GB at the Olympics, and 500-1 that she wins a gold medal, while it’s 100-1 that she follows in her father’s footsteps and plays International Rugby for England.  Meanwhile, Coral is offering 2-1 that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are announced as godparents.

“Royal baby names are historically not announced straight away, and punters have been left playing a guessing game. However, it looks like many have made their mind up, with more than 80% of bets in favour of Anne,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
