Winchester winner scoops £134,000 Football Jackpot for just £1

| 17.12.2013

A Winchester punter is celebrating getting an early Christmas present today, after he scooped more than £134,000 for just a £1 bet on the weekend’s football. The 65-y-o retired man, who wishes to remain anonymous, placed the Football Jackpot bet at the Coral shop on St George’s Street, Winchester on Saturday morning, and correctly predicted the outcome of 15 matches, concluding with Liverpool’s 5-0 victory at Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, which gave him the jackpot win of £134,535.70.

The customer commented: “I knew I was in the running for a bumper payout with two games to go, but then had a nervous few minutes when Bolton came back from two-nil down to level at two-two, but fortunately Wigan got the winner in that game, and then Liverpool thrashed Spurs, so I was able to enjoy the second half of that game.”

“I’ve played the Coral Football Jackpot since the start of the season, and this is my first win, and what a win it was, the perfect early Christmas present. Top of my list will be a holiday in the sun next year.”

Coral’s David Stevens said: “We are delighted this customer has become our biggest small-staking Football Jackpot winner so far, and the timing couldn’t be better to ensure he has a very merry Christmas on us. It was a great effort to predict 15 correct outcomes, and he deserves his massive prize, and all for just £1.”
