The next week looks set to be a big one in terms of manager appointments, as both WBA and Tottenham continue their search for new managers.

Similarly there looks likely to be upheaval in Wales as Cardiff Chaiman Vincent Tan is well on his way to making manager Malky Mackay’s position untenable.

The Scot guided the club into the top-flight last season for the first time in 51 years but, despite having the backing of the fans, is set to become the next manager to lose his job.

Tan said: “Whatever we do, we do for the good of the club.”

Bet on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be next WBA boss at 11/8

In a very unusual set of events, there is always one constant: Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Swede is often linked to vacant positions in the Premier League but is currently working in China, as coach at Guangzhou R&F.

Meanwhile, West Brom scored a late equaliser to rescue a point at home to Hull on Saturday but are perilously close to the relegation places.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer  is the current 11/8 favourite for the vacant role, and the Molde coach was very well-backed last week.

However Mackay has also been a market mover and is 2/1, with former Watford boss Gianfranco Zola a 6/1 chance.

Bet on Tim Sherwood to be next Spurs boss at 2/1

In North London, interim manager Tim Sherwood did his chances of getting the job on a permanent basis no harm with a 3-2 win at Southampton on Sunday.

The former Blackburn midfielder is 2/1, whilst Frank De Boer continues to be linked with the job.

De Boer’s Ajax side moved back to the summit of the Eredivisie with a 2-1 win at Roda on Sunday but the 43-year-old is still prominent in the betting, despite appearing to rule himself out of the position on Saturday.

De Boer said: “I’m very satisfied with the Ajax job. I’d only leave once there is no more challenge here.”
