Coral can’t split Captain Conan and Sire De Grugy for Tingle Creek

| 05.12.2013

Captain Conan and Sire De Grugy are the 2-1 joint favourites with Coral for Saturday’s Tingle Creek Chase, following the final declarations for the Sandown showpiece. Somersby is next at 5-2, ahead of Kauto Stone, 10-1.

“The absence of two-mile champion Sprinter Sacre will come as a disappointment to his many fans, but one positive is we have a highly competitive renewal of the Tingle Creek Chase to look forward to, and betting turnover will be considerably higher than it would have been had Sprinter Sacre turned up,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

Switching codes, the John Gosden-trained The Fugue is 6-4 favourite with Coral for Sunday’s Hong Kong Vase, while Moonlight Cloud is the 11-8 market leader for the Mile, with Sky Lantern 11-2 third favourite for the same race to give Richard Hannon a final Group One success as a trainer.

“The vibes have been more postive for Sky Lantern in the last 24 hours, but if Richard Hannon is to sign off with a top level success, his filly will have to beat a superstar and worthy favourite in Moonlight Cloud,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
