Wilfried Bony to inspire Swansea to victory at Fulham

| 23.11.2013

Swansea have won on their last two visits to Craven Cottage and they can make it a hat-trick of victories this afternoon.

Michael Laudrup’s side are 5/4 to claim all three points and that looks entirely justified when we consider the woes of Fulham so far this season.

Martin Jol’s team have only scored five goals in five Premier League home matches and interestingly they have scored exactly one goal in each game – the only team in the league to have such a consistent statistic.

Bet on Swansea to beat Fulham at 5/4

It’s hard to see them threatening the Swansea goal much more than that with star striker Dimitar Berbatov not firing on any of his laconic cylinders this season; he has only one goal in 10 league matches.

That ensures that the Bulgarian even lies behind Steven Sidwell in Fulham’s goal charts, and whilst Darren Bent looks like he is starting to find his feet again, Jol’s side don’t possess a strong goal threat at present.

Bet on Wilfried Bony to score first at 5/1

Their only real highlight this season was a 4-1 win away at Crystal Palace, but the latter are very average and since then Jol’s team have lost four matches in all competitions.

Fulham fans shouldn’t give up hope however, as the appointment of Rene Meulensteen at the club could add a new dimension.

The former Man Utd man will help his fellow Dutchman Martin Jol with the ailing London side and the two friends want to inject a faster rhythm into Fulham’s play.

Fulham’s record against teams in the bottom half of the table is strong – three home wins from four matches this season – however Swansea really shouldn’t be in the lower half of the league standings.

Bet on Swansea to win 2-1 at 17/2

The Swans came back from two nil down against Stoke in their last game but, despite leading 3-2 with a minute to play, they drew the match in frustrating fashion.

The equaliser was a contentious penalty and, although Laudrup’s side have missed Michu and Pablo Hernandez, they are still a very solid side with a consistent goal threat; they have scored 32 goals in all competitions this season.

Wilfried Bony is starting to find his feet – he has now scored four league goals from five starts and is 5/1 to score first this afternoon.

The Ivorian will present a real physical danger to a Fulham defence which is significantly weakened by the absence of Brede Hangeland and the suspended Sascha Riether.

Swansea are 17/2 to win 2-1 which has been the winning scoreline in three of the last four matches between these teams at Craven Cottage.

In five home games this season, the hosts have twice been beaten 3-1, and the visitors to concede but still win the game bet also makes appeal at 18/5.
