Kasami to lead Fulham to valuable win against impotent Hammers

| 29.11.2013

Fulham have won both of their away games this season against relegation rivals and should be backed at 7/2 to beat West Ham.

Martin Jol – with the assistance of Rene Meulensteen – is on a mission to rebuild confidence at Fulham with the London side losing their last five matches in all competitions.

However three of those matches were against top six teams and Jol’s side have had more luck against the weaker teams, especially away from Craven Cottage.

They beat Sunderland on the opening day of the season and Crystal Palace last month with Pajtim Kasami scoring on each occasion.

The Swiss midfielder has been one of the bight points of the season for Fulham and he is 7/2 to score at anytime against a very negative West Ham side.

Sam Allardyce continues to start matches without a recognised striker and playing Kevin Nolan up-front on his own is not conducive to scoring goals.

They didn’t threaten Chelsea during their 3-0 home defeat last Sunday and Allardyce’s team have only scored five goals in six games at Upton Park.

Fulham are 13/2 to win to nil and that looks too big a price given the home side’s impotency.

For those who like to back goals, the history between these sides will give some hope, as Fulham’s last four fixtures at Upton Park have all featured two or more goals.

Indeed, three of more goals have been scored in seven of the last eight meetings between these two teams.

Bet on Fulham to win to nil at 13/2

However neither team has confidence in-front of goal at present and a low-scoring game is expected.

Both teams are on 10 points and the tension surrounding the match – for players and especially managers – is unlikely to help produce a free-scoring spectacle.

Should Allardyce decide to play a striker then Carlton Cole – who has six goals in his last five starts against Fulham – is the obvious choice; he’s 7/1 to score first.
