Bale and Ronaldo to lead Real goalfest against Sociedad

| 09.11.2013

Real Madrid’s dodgy backline has conceded in 10 of their 13 matches this season and the hosts are worth backing at 11/10 to concede but still win against Real Sociedad this afternoon.

The last three clashes between these two royal sides have featured five, six and seven goals, and both teams are set to serve up another attacking extravaganza.

Bet on over 4.5 goals at 11/8

The absence of Marcelo, due to a worrying arthritic problem, and his deputy Fabio Coentrao, all add to the frailty of Carlo Ancelotti’s side and Real Sociedad, despite drawing blanks in recent matches against Man Utd, are far from toothless.

Jagoba Arrasate’s side have scored 12 goals in their last four La Liga games, including five against Osasuna a week ago, and Antoine Griezmann is just one of several potential goal threats.

They got on the scoresheet in a 4-1 defeat at Barcelona, and have scored in six of the last seven games against Real Madrid.

Bet on Real Madrid to concede but still win at 11/10

A discussion on potential goal threats would be incomplete without mentioning Christiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

If the former can shake off a niggle then he looks banker material at 4/11 to score at anytime given he has already scored in 12 games this season, whilst Bale’s odds to do the same are 6/5, a bet that would have collected in two of Madrid’s last three games.

Ronaldo has actually netted two or more goals in seven of Madrid’s last 12 matches in all competitions and that is also of interest at 5/4.

The above figures suggest his odds are about right but they don’t factor in that the Portuguese maestro has notched a double in all three of his home games against Sociedad.
