X Factor even money to beat Strictly as live shows kick off

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

The X Factor’s war with Strictly Come Dancing is heating up and Coral has cut the odds on the ITV singing contest winning the ratings battle into even money from 7-4. With twelve acts through to the live shows, the firm is quoting 2-1 that any performance receives a standing ovation from all four judges, while it is 5-1 that someone freezes during their performance.

Tamera Foster is the 5-2 favourite to be crowned this year’s winner, and Scottish teenager Nicholas McDonald is the 4-1 second favourite. Meanwhile, Sharon Osbourne’s acts could be in big trouble this weekend, with Coral making Lorna Simpson the 9-4 favourite to get the axe on Sunday night.

“Both shows go head-to-head once more this weekend, but with the live shows kicking off on ITV, we’ve seen money for Simon Cowell’s production attracting more viewers for the first time this season”, commented Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

“Punters have also turned their attention to our X Factor specials, and some have backed Tamera to blunder on stage again after her first audition disaster”, added McGeady.
