Graphic leads Haggas six-horse assault on Cambridgeshire

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Trainer William Haggas has declared all six of his entries for the Cambridgeshire on Saturday with Graphic (Frankie Dettori) and Queensberry Rules (Ryan Moore) attracting plenty of support. A high draw is usually beneficial in this annual cavalry charge and they are in stalls 20 and 18 respectively.

Fury (27) is also well drawn but Nine Realms (6), Danchai (8) and Arsaadi (11) will be hoping that low to middle will not prove to be a disadvantage. Graphic has emerged as a leading contender since following up his Haydock victory over Ascription by winning a valuable race on the all-weather at Kempton.

The drying ground should certainly be in his favour whilst Queensberry Rules also showed his best form on a faster surface at Royal Ascot in June. He finished strongly to take third in the Britannia Stakes but has disappointed in two subsequent outings.

He refused to settle for Johnny Murtagh at York last time in a muddling race and should be much better suited by the faster pace on Saturday. William Buick rides Danchai who won the John Smith’s Cup at York in July before suffering defeats at Haydock and Sandown.

Hugo Palmer has warned that Ascription will only take his chance if there is rain to ease the going. He won impressively at Goodwood and Doncaster on good to soft ground but was beaten two lengths by Graphic on a faster surface.

Brian Ellison’s Top Notch Tonto is officially the best weighted horse in the race after winning a Group 3 race at Haydock. He only carries a 4lbs penalty for that success but connections would ideally like to see further rain to boost his chances.

He does have winning form on a faster surface and looks well drawn in stall 24. Henry Candy’s Code Of Honor has been the subject of good each-way support this week along with Jack’s Revenge (Oisin Murphy).

Previous winners Prince Of Johanne and Bronze Angel return in search of further big-race glory. Bronze Angel sprang a 33-1 surprise last year but has not raced since October. A maximum field of 35 will go to post with the race due off at 3.50 on Saturday.
