Girls dominate X Factor after week one
The girls came out on top after the opening weekend of the X Factor and Coral bookmaker go 7-4 that a contestant from the girls category wins the contest. Teen sensation Tamera Foster wowed the judges and punters alike, despite forgetting her words and Coral has witnessed a surge of support for her since last night. The firm has installed her as the new 6-1 favourite, replacing prison officer Sam Bailey at the head of the betting.
Sam Bailey is now the 7-1 second favourite to land the lucrative record deal, whilst Hannah Barrett can be backed at 12-1. Nicole Scherzinger, who will manage the girls, has also been supported to mentor the winning act at odds of 7-4.
“Tamera Foster caused a betting frenzy last night after performing a Whitney Houston song and the bets continue to stream in today. We can’t remember an act who attracted so much attention after week one but punters clearly believe she will be hard to beat”, commented Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
