Coral go “Best Price British” on Lions and Murray

| 04.07.2013

On the eve of the most eagerly anticipated sporting weekend of the year, Coral has thrown down the gauntlet to patriotic punters across the United Kingdom by going clear top prices on both the British & Irish Lions to win the final test against Australia, and on Andy Murray to win Wimbledon on Sunday.

Coral have pushed out the Lions to 5/4 to beat Australia in the series decider on Saturday morning and have eased Andy Murray to a clear best price of 2/1 to become the first British player since Fred Perry to win Wimbledon Men’s title on Sunday.

Both prices will be available from 9.00am tomorrow (Friday, 5th July) and Coral is guaranteeing to be top price on both all day, even if this means pushing out the odds.

“This promises to be the busiest and most exciting sports betting weekend of the year and with hundreds of thousands of punters across Britain wanting to back the Lions and Murray we have decided to go for broke and aggressively lay them both,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“The Lions came unstuck against Australia in the second test having just about hung on for victory in the first so we believe there is good reason to take them on in the decider. Andy Murray only just came through against Verdasco while Djokovic has been playing brilliantly so it makes sense to get stuck into the Scot too”, added Clare.

“With such an aggressive pricing position we are expecting many hundreds of thousands of pounds to be bet on both the Lions and Andy Murray, and even more again on the double which inevitably we are also best priced about at 5.75/1. If the Lions and Murray both win this weekend we will be paying a seven figure bill on Monday morning”, said Clare.
