Dawn Approach Cut to 6/4 Favourite For Investec Derby

| 04.05.2013

Dawn Approach has been slashed to 6/4 clear favourite from 8/1 by Coral for next month’s Investec Derby following his imperious performance in this afternoon’s Qipco 2000 Guineas.

Jim Bolger’s colt had been ante post favourite for the 2000 Guineas since winning the Coventry Stakes last June and Coral estimate that his success today will have cost British bookmakers over £2 million pounds.

“Ante post punters have been chipping away backing Dawn Approach for nearly a year, and we then laid a huge surge of day of race money on the horse today, making him one of the worst Guineas results ever for bookmakers,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“Despite some question marks over his stamina for the Derby, Dawn Approach looks certain to start one of the shortest priced favourites for the race in years”, added Clare.
