Free-scoring Dortmund 11/10 to fend off Malaga with a -1 handicap

| 08.04.2013

If not for some extremely wasteful finishing from Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and friends Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund would already have a handsome lead heading into their quarter final second leg tie against Malaga. Both sides rested key men at the weekend and with the last 10 games at Signal Iduna Park averaging 4.2 goals fireworks can be expected – over 3.5 goals can be backed at 2/1.

Dortmund are strong 4/9 favourites to register a win on home soil after the goalless draw at La Roselada and given they’ve won seven of their last eight home games by two clear goals it’s easy to see why. The hosts are 11/10 for victory with a -1 handicap with Coral.

At 0-0 the tie remains nicely set up for a disciplined side such as Malaga, should they pinch the first goal, but Dortmund are the second best side in the Bundesliga at picking up points from losing positions meaning such an eventuality would likely see the total goals bar rise higher.

Malaga found space in behind an unabashedly attack-minded Dortmund in Spain, frustratingly failing to create much in the way of clear cut chances, but they may find the Germans less accommodating as hosts. In four Champions League home games the Rhinelanders have let in a solitary goal and that came from the irrepressible boots of Cristiano Ronaldo – a Dortmund win to nil can be backed 13/10 with Coral.

The Spanish side have qualified for this stage of the competition in spite of some distinctly average form, winning just twice in their last nine outings. Their hosts have been in a more clinical mood, winning four of their last five outings and their last four home games.

Robert Lewandowski, so uncharacteristically wasteful in the first leg, has been in dead eyed form at Signal Iduna Park, registering five goals in his last four home games. That quintet included a brace of braces and the classy Pole is 7/2 to register twice or more this evening.
