Coral’s Nicola McGeady Sets The Scene On Day 4 Of Punchestown

| 26.04.2013

Rain, hail or snow, they are still whipping out the legs and leaving the coats at home, allowing the men to stare from behind their mirrored sunglasses!

Anyway enough of about the two-legged fillies, the four-legged filly that is Quevega stole the show yesterday and today, race fans have poured through the turnstiles to catch a glimpse of one of Ireland’s greatest ever hurdler’s Hurricane Fly in the Rabobank Champion Hurdle.

His odds of 2/7 were a correct representation of what a machine this Wille Mullins-trained horse really is. The nine-year-old produced another stunning display under Ruby Walsh, and crowds dashed from the grandstand into the winner’s circle to see the champion in all of his glory. He has further cemented his status as one of the greatest hurdler’s the racing fraternity has ever seen. Punters are already getting involved with the 4-1 on offer for him at Cheltenham next year and if all goes to plan, we fully expect him to continue his superb winning streak.

Yesterday punters bashed the bookies and today was no different, as Un Atout’s victory in the Champion Novice Hurdle ensured all the day’s doubles clicked. Our boys on the trading floor got an absolute hiding and tomorrow will be the last chance saloon to claw something back.

Now I’m off home to watch the Fly’s performance on repeat…
