Return to Wolverhampton could work the oracle for Emiratesdotcom

| 18.03.2013

The 4:30 at Wolverhampton sees the catchily-monikered Emiratesdotcom make a long overdue return to the Black Country’s only racecourse. Milton Bradley’s seven-year-old has laboured to no avail in the 17 races since his last outing at the track where he has won three of his five runs including two over today’s course and distance.

Whilst it’s not particularly encouraging that he’s currently just 1lb below his career-high mark and a wide draw will still further hinder his chances, it remains that this is a course and distance that brings the best out of Emiratesdotcom and a return to form is more difficult to discount here than anywhere else.

Amongst his rivals Lucky Dan bounced back to form last time to record a course win over 5f and steps up to a trip at which he’s notched four wins, giving the reopposing Holy Angel 9lbs and a beating.

Nonetheless a mark of 75 could prove his undoing, with Paul Green’s sprinter never having won off a rating higher than 74.

The 3:00 sees Jamie Osborne’s sole runner at the track today go in the shape of Darkest Night.

Osborne has his horses in fine spirits at the moment, pouching three winners and two seconds from eight runners in the last fortnight and his Darkest Night is the only entrant in the card-opener that has previously scored on Polytrack.

Meanwhile Robert Tart has already notched 23 wins from just 114 rides this term to find himself 15th in the all weather riders rankings, not bad for a 5lb claimer!

His last 35 rides have yielded 10 winners and a further 10 placed efforts and he’ll be bringing his weight concession to bear on Exit Clause (3:00), Otto The First (4:00) and Tyrana (5:00) this afternoon.
