ALEXANDRA BURKE ATTRACTS A FLURRY OF BETS TO WIN STRICTLY

Alexandra Burke continues to attract a flurry of bets to win the 2017 series of Strictly Come Dancing where she is now the 2-1 favourite with leading bookmaker Coral after receiving the highest score of the series last night and the first 10 this year from the judges. Aston Merrygold is second best in the latest outright betting at 5-2, while Gemma Atkinson is also a big market mover into 4-1 (from 8-1) after another strong performance.

Before she was eliminated this weekend, Charlotte Hawkins was 7-2 second-favourite in the elimination betting just behind the odds-on favourite at 8-13 Simon Rimmer.

“Alexandra blew the judges away with her latest performance and ever since the judges went up with their 10s, punters have been flocking in in their numbers to back the pop star to win the series where she is new favourite ahead of Aston Merrygold,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“The other big marker mover from the weekend was Gemma Atkinson who is now third best on the list as she is getting better with every performance,” added Hill.

“Simon seems to have more lives than a cat as he was saved once again by the public’s vote despite being odds-on to depart,” concluded Hill.
