3 Prem clubs who should bid for Ajax prodigy Kluivert in January

Patrick Kluivert is rightly regarded as one of the best forwards of his generation. And now the Dutch ace’s 18-year-old son Justin Kluivert is blazing a trail for Ajax.

The teenager scored a stunning hat-trick against Roda JC at the weekend, in the latest of a string of excellent displays.

Since breaking into the first-team in early 2017, the winger has managed five goals and seven assists in 34 appearances (many of them off the bench).

On the basis of his huge potential, Premier League interest is surely on the horizon. The Coral News Team have identified three possible English destinations for the youngster.

Southampton

Saints may have put four goals past a dismal Everton side on Sunday, but they could still do with a boost in attack. Before that game, they’d managed just nine goals in 12 Premier League goals.

Despite a solid campaign in 2016-17, current left-wing option Nathan Redmond hasn’t found the net in 14 outings this term. Meanwhile, Dusan Tadic has been hit-and-miss on the other flank.

While those two boast significantly more experience, Kluivert could be the ideal option from the bench.

Not only does he possess real pace, but his tricky footwork could prove tough to handle for tired opposition defences. Add his ability to pluck a superb finish out of nowhere, and he’s the perfect option for a tight, cagey game.

Everton

Things are going from bad to worse at Goodison Park this season. While there’s a huge question mark over who’ll be in charge once the January transfer window opens, there’s no question that the Toffees squad needs new additions.

Especially so in attacking areas. Between them, current wing options Kevin Mirallas, Aaron Lennon and Ademola Lookman have managed zero goals and two assists in a combined 32 outings.

Kluivert has proved a dynamic impact player for both Ajax and the Netherlands Under-21 side. And his pace and creativity would likely make him a good foil for the lively Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the experienced-but-sluggish Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United

Okay, so the Red Devils aren’t really struggling coming forward. But Saturday’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion proved once again that they lack a winger who has the courage to take on defenders and the skill to provide a pinpoint cross.

Anthony Martial does offer neat finishing and trickery on the left flank, but many among the Old Trafford faithful prefer him in a more central role. Aside from the Frenchman, United’s wing options – Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard and Antonio Valencia – are all decent players, but none are top-class.

With Kluivert’s contract having just 18 months to run, Transfermarkt.co.uk currently  estimate the player’s market value at just £2.7m. Considering what he’s produced so far, anything close to that price would prove an absolute bargain for the clubs mentioned.
