3/1 that VAR is used in next season’s Premier League
Published:Many believe it remains unfit for purpose
Coral are offering 3/1 for VAR to be used in the Premier League next season.
On the flipside, our traders are also offering long odds-on at 1/5 that the technology is not used in the 2018/19 campaign.
There was a significant backlash against VAR in last night’s Tottenham Hotspur v Rochdale FA Cup replay.
Six minutes alone were added onto the end of the first half of last night’s game with a number of controversial decisions passed to the VAR.
Mauricio Pochettino stated after the game that he had felt sorry for the referee. And BBC pundit Jermaine Jenas had referred to the incorrect decisions as embarrassing.
“After the chaos at Wembley last night, we have slashed the odds on VAR not being used in the Premier League season as it seems a very long way off from being fit for purpose,” said Coral’s John Hill.
