2015/16 Premier League fixtures: Spurs start off at Man Utd

Fans and punters can finally get excited ahead of the new 2015/16 Premier League season, as all the fixtures for the upcoming campaign have been announced.

The big match of the opening week is no doubt between Manchester United (5/1 title chances with Coral) and Tottenham (also 5/1 for a top four finish) at Old Trafford.

This fixture finished 3-0 to the Red Devils last term in March, and a potentially new-look team are odds-on favourites at 8/11 for victory again. Spurs are 7/2 shouts to take all three points.

Champions Chelsea (5/2 title favourites), meanwhile, host Swansea, who shocked Man Utd last season on the opening day. The Swans are a tempting 10/1 to win again, or 4/1 to claim a draw and get off to a good start once more as they look to match their 2014/15 finish of eighth.

Backing against the Blues may not be wise, though, given their odds-on price of 2/7 for victory.

Elsewhere, Liverpool (5/2 top four chances) start where they finished last campaign, as they travel to the Britannia Stadium, where they were thrashed 6-1 by Stoke City on the final day of the season.

The Potters are decent 11/5 chances to beat them again, following their productive summer of transfers so far, while Brendan Rodgers’ men (5/4) will be desperate to start off on a positive note without club legend Steven Gerrard.

In terms of the new boys, Championship winners Bournemouth (13/10 for victory) host Aston Villa (21/10), Watford (5/1) travel to Everton (1/2) and Norwich City (6/4) welcome Crystal Palace (7/4).

The remaining fixtures consist of relegation battlers last term Leicester City (11/10) and Sunderland (12/5) at the King Power Stadium, while Manchester City (4/6) are away to West Bromwich Albion (4/1), Steve McClaren’s Newcastle United (15/8) entertain Southampton (7/5) and Arsenal (2/5) duel with West Ham United (7/1) in a London derby at the Emirates.

As ever, it will be so hard to call in arguably the world’s most competitive top league, however none of the top four last term face tough tests on the final day of the season.

While no result in the Premier League is assured, you still expect home teams Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd to see off Aston Villa, Leicester and Bournemouth on May 15th, although Man City perhaps face the more difficult match away to Swansea.

Of the top four last term, the Red Devils arguably have the easiest run in to the end of the season, with their final five fixtures being against Villa (home), West Ham (away), Leicester (h), Norwich (a) and Bournemouth (h).

You could say that Chelsea have one of the most difficult, with the following games – Man City (h), Bournemouth (a), Tottenham (h), Sunderland (a) and Leicester (h).

Manuel Pellegrini’s Citizens face an equally tough final five fixtures against Chelsea (a), Stoke (h), Southampton (a), Arsenal (h) and Swansea (a).

Arsenal, meanwhile, have Palace (h), Sunderland (a), Norwich (h), Man City (a) and Villa (h).

Potentially down at the bottom, Bournemouth are due to face Spurs (a), Man City (h), Liverpool (h), Chelsea (h), Everton (a) and Man Utd (a) in six of their last eight battles.

Watford have an easier run of West Brom (a), Norwich (a), Villa (h), Liverpool (a) and Sunderland (h) in their final five fixtures.

Other newly-promoted side Norwich duel with Arsenal (a), Man Utd (h) and then Everton (a) in their last three of the season.
