Cheltenham Day 4 Betting
Gold Cup 2022
The four days of horse racing at the Cheltenham Festival all build towards a thrilling climax and last day - day 4 when the grade 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup (last race) will be decided shortly after 3.30pm. The final day features the most prestigious national hunt race. With 22 fences to navigate, horses have gone on to acquire legendary status with a win in the Cheltenham Gold Cup including Arkle, Kauto Star, Best Mate and Denman. Ahead of every race at Cheltenham, we’ll provide odds and a wide range of Cheltenham tips, sports bet and Ante-Post markets which will be regularly updated throughout the season.
Betting Tips for Cheltenham Gold Cup Day
Minella Indo led home A Plus Tard for a Henry de Bromhead one-two in the race in 2021 that gave the Waterford trainer his first victory in the blue riband. Both of his stars are sure to be of warm order again at Cheltenham 2022, while two-time Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo, third in 2021, looks to become only the second horse after Kauto Star to regain the Gold Cup.
Last year’s National Hunt Chase winner at the Cheltenham Festival, Galvin, downed fiercely competitive A Plus Tard to throw his hat into the Gold Cup ring at Christmas and there is sure to be an unforgiving battle for three-and-a-quarter miles as one of the sternest examinations of a racehorse will decide the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner 2022.
Triumph Hurdle
The action begins with the Triumph Hurdle for Juveniles as the very best hurdling youngsters go in search of Grade One honours, while the other top-level hurdle race on the card is the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle, which often proves to be a gruelling test of stamina over three miles.
Many will be looking to secure some final handicap glory for the week in the County Hurdle over two miles, which has been won by either Dan Skelton or Willie Mullins in six of the last seven seasons, while the Martin Pipe is the other handicap on the Friday card and has been the race that many top performers have first announced their talents to a wider audience.
Foxhunter Chase
The amateur riders have one last opportunity for Cheltenham Festival glory in the Foxhunter Chase, while Willie Mullins landed the first ever running of the Mares Chase 12 months ago and looks to have a leading hand once again with Concertista.
